| This program is offered periodically to undergraduate students interested in learning more about sexual harassment prevention and in educating other students regarding UCI's policies and procedures regarding sexual harassment. Although sexual harassment is a serious problem and a ‘gray area' issue, many students are unaware of the remedies available to them if they are harassed by a peer, a teaching assistant, professor, or another individual.
As Peer Educators, participants with gain the ability to educate other students and provide appropriate resources for sexual harassment victims. Peer Educators develop creative educational programs for student presentations and workshops and, in the process, develop or increase public speaking and group facilitation skills.
The course earns 1.3 UC credits for three hours of training and volunteering per week. |
