It's On Us: Chancellor, Students Pledge to Take Stand Against Sexual Assault
On October 8, 2015, Chancellor Gillman reminded the UCI community that "It's On Us, all of us, to engage as active bystanders to prevent sex offenses in our community and to report sex offenses to the Office of Equal Opportunity & Diversity (OEOD) when they occur." Last year, UCI unveiled a sexual offense information website for faculty, staff and students to learn more about campus policies and how to identify and report an offense; the site also provides resources for victims. Looking to network? Join a Diversity Affinity Group!
Faculty and staff diversity affinity groups foster cross-departmental social interaction, professional networking, cultural competencies, recruiting and mentoring. Diversity affinity groups also offer the UCI community at large an opportunity to consult with group members as an information resource. For more information, go to www.oeod.uci.edu/affinity.
Diversity programs offered by the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity contribute to this effort. To learn more about OEOD's diversity programs, go to http://www.oeod.uci.edu/training.html.
